Dafire is Dana M. Hastings. Born and raised in Arizona. I am 1/4 Hopi, and 3/4 Navajo. My mother's side of the family resides in Northern Arizona near a town called Tuba City. My father's side of the family resides in Northwestern New Mexico, near the towns of Gallup, Shiprock, and Crystal. Lots of family, maybe even too many to keep track of! My clans are (the english version) Towering House and Edgewater. In addition to my extended family, my immediate family is quite blended. Lots of half-sisters, half-brothers, a step-sister, and a step-brother.

I've been in school longer than I care to admit, but I have hopefully found my niche. I will be done with the first phase of school in December of 2005. I can't wait! Then, I'll decide whether to join the working force or get a graduate degree, who knows maybe it will be both.

I have many interests, but my main interests lie in music, computers, photography, web design, and of course in my feline. Most of these interests will be reflected on this website.

I'm always asked what or where did "dafire" come from. "DA" comes from my family. Although I have a short name, they have found a way to make it even shorter. "Blah, blah, blah....huh-day", "Day, when are you coming home", "Day did it".... So, yes, I shortened it even more to "Da". Then, the "fire" comes from my wierd fascination with flames. OoooOOOOoooo....fire...love it. I have tons of candles and love to light them. So there you go...dafire.

And for those that know my email, the 32ot comes from my role number in my fraternity Theta Tau. The "oh" and "tee" are the closest letters that look like the greek letters of the fraternity name.

Mystery solved? Good.
